Using plugin to turn wordpress into online store

Like I promise to you guys I will explain to you how to use a plugin wp-ecommerce. Right now, this plugin that can turn your wordpress into an online store already reach 3.7.4 version. But I personally still use the 3.6.4 version.

It’s kinda old. But this type of version is the easiest version that you can modify to have a nice look. You can see one of my online stores in lessthanthirteen.com. It’s impossible for us to have that kind of look and feature if we use the newer version of wp-ecommerce. Except if you choose to pay to buy an advance version of 3.7.4 (not the standard version). But if you choose to use the old version you can have that professional look for your online store for free. Off course with a little and simple coding (I’ll teach you how to do it later).

So, it’s your choice if you want to use the newer version. But if you want the old version I will send you this plugin by email. Just buzz me up trough the comment if you want it.

Okay, lets start the setting now. First, download the plugin and upload it to your wordpress plugin. After that start the plugin by activated it on plugin area. Than you will see there is an e-commerce section that contains sales, products, groups, variations, marketing and setting, like this:

And on a wordpress page section you will see you got product page, Transaction Results page, Verify your Order page and Your Account page automatically right after you activated the plugin. Most likely you don’t have to do anything on this page. Leave it as it is.

Before we use this wordpress plugin to turn our blog into an online store. I will explain to you the use of that section one buy one. It’s just an explanation I will teach you how to use it later.

A. Sales
You can see your sales track record here. You can choose to see it all, three month record or one month record. In this section you also can change the status of a track record from order received, accepted payment, job dispatched and close order.

B. Product
Here is the section where you can add your product. Fill in the description, price, image and etc. After you are finish with setting at the first time and running your online store, most likely you will only have to visit this first two of section (sales and product).

C. Groups
You can set your groups of product here. For example if you sell man shirt, woman shirt, man hat, woman hat. You can set a group of shirt and hat or you can set a group of man section and woman section. Got it?

D. Variations
This section is everything about optional. From color, size, and etc.

E. Marketing
You can set a marketing plan here, trough a discount code. And with a litle coding you even can have your own affiliate company (people selling your product while you were sleeping and all you have two do is paying them an amount of money). Relax will get into that on later post.

F. Setting
This is the most important section on the first setup. There is a general, presentation, admin, shipping, payments, check out.
